It is my family that drives me to keep up my language. My mother the most. I see my language work as sort of giving back to her because she was one of those children that were taken away. I couldn’t really go to her on some things about language or cultural because she grew up in different places. And when I was young I was all about sports and stuff like that. Now it’s a little deeper and in the back of my mind I think ‘here you go Mum’. Hopeful she’ll be happy with what I’m doing, along with the rest of my aunties and uncles.
