I asked a young girl one time at school ‘what does the learning our language mean to you’ and she said ‘I go home and I teach my parents their language and their culture’. That little girl, that eight-year-old girl, is the reason why I get out of bed in the morning. Her words were so strong, and to think I had some part in helping a family learn some part of their culture is just mind blowing that’s all I can say. That is what inspires me to keep going. She just blew me away that child.
